We all love money! We especially like money when it comes to spending the least amount possible. One of the ways you can save money on items or devices for your practice is by negotiating! In this blog post, we are going to teach you how to negotiate.
Negotiating is key when it comes to saving money on devices that can cost you a fortune. When negotiating, play the long game. Don’t get caught up in a “trade show special” when you see good deals. Vendors will try to make you think it’s the only good deal you will get in a long time, but in reality, special deals are often good for much longer. Over time, you will see more deals at future trade shows. Keeping that in mind, the best time to negotiate is going to be at the end of a quarter or fiscal year.
In addition, did you know that the top three items to negotiate when it comes to laser and RF devices are consumables, shipping, and warranty? There is a reduced cost with consumables for additional tips, grounding pads, or other consumables that will result in a lower cost. Shipping is normally done through a third-party transportation company, so it will be more difficult to negotiate. However, the vendor might reduce the cost of the item or product instead to compensate for the shipping, so you should still ask. Last to negotiate is the warranty. Negotiate for an extended agreement when it comes to the warranty.
Overall, the worst that can happen is the seller saying “NO” to you. If the seller says no to you, don’t be afraid to walk away from the deal. There will always be more sellers with more deals in the future.
